Blue River Watershed Assessment
We completed the Blue River Watershed Assessment in August of last year. Since then several things have happened that provide an opportunity for the stakeholders to get together again and get an update and additional information. We reassembled the Blue River Watershed stakeholder group to review the following items;1. The Watershed Assessment has been updated by the Bark Beetle Incident group of the US Forest Service. We will present those changes and discuss their meaning for the Blue River Watershed. To review the BBI report please click on the BBI Watersheds tab above and then select Blue River.
2. The more recent watershed assessments, that are following the procedure that we used, are adding an additional item - identification of opportunities and constraints. This process involves looking at the watershed zones of concern and identifying opportunity areas. Remember that this process is focused on hazards to water supply.
Some additional information from other projects were also discussed and incorporated as deemed appropriate by the stakeholders. These items include; Blue River Source Water Protection Plan and Summit County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).

We have finalized the report based on the additional information and the 5th stakeholders meeting. The report is posted on the Blue River Watershed Assessment Files page - see link on the left of this page. Please contact Brad Piehl for more information.
