We are nearing the end of a watershed assessment and prioritization for the South Platte Headwaters Watershed. The assessment is following a procedure prescribed by the Front Range Watershed Protection Data Refinement Work Group titled “Protecting Critical Watersheds in Colorado from Wildfire: A Technical Approach to Watershed Assessment and Prioritization”.
The South Platte Headwaters Watershed Assessment will be completed to identify, prioritize, and recommend measures to protect those watersheds that provide or convey critical community water supplies from the adverse effects of post-wildfire hydrologic changes, including flooding, erosion, deposition, and introduction of potential contaminants.

The South Platte Headwaters Results Blog (see link on sidebar) allows you to view the results that will be reviewed during the fourth stakeholder meeting. The South Platte Headwaters files page (link on sidebar) has more information, including the agenda for the meeting. Brad will provide hard copies of the agenda for attendees of the meeting.
