Brad Piehl
Brad Piehl has 24 years of environmental consulting experience. Brad’s specialty is in developing innovative approaches to landscape level assessments that result in prioritizing projects at the watershed and subwatershed level. He is considered a NEPA expert by several public agencies. He has also served as a facilitator and public involvement lead on many natural resource projects.

He has managed projects at the regional, landscape, and project level, as well as, policy analysis for federal and state agencies and private clients. He works with clients to develop effective interdisciplinary approaches to problem solving for watershed and landscape-level issues typically dealing with natural resource issues.

Jessica Wald
Jessica has 19 years of experience in environmental consulting. Her expertise includes project and technical management/coordination of large complex interdisciplinary projects and public involvement. She has been the public involvement lead on many large natural resource management projects involving complex issues and diverse stakeholders.

Jessica also has served as the technical manager of many natural resource projects that has provided her with technical familiarity with many environmental analyses such as; air quality, cultural resources, ecology, fisheries, forestry, geology, recreation, soils, threatened, endangered and sensitive species, vegetation, visuals, wetlands and wildlife.

Jessica’s Resume

John Baas
Dr. Baas has 21 years of experience in natural resource planning and outdoor recreation planning. His expertise is in conducting recreation user studies in support of resource management planning, and conducting studies to estimate impacts of recreation use on special status species' habitats. Dr. Baas has prepared recreation studies for:  California State Parks, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, California Department of Fish and Game, Colorado Division of Wildlife, Northern California Power Agency, Southern California Edison, Pacific Gas and Electric, and the California Department of Water Resources.  Prior to becoming an environmental consultant, Dr. Baas worked for the USDA Forest Service as a social scientist researcher and a recreation planner, and conducted research as an Assistant Professor at Colorado State University.  Dr. Baas currently serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the National Association of Recreation Resource Planners and is preparing a book on best practices in recreation resource planning.

John’s Resume

Laura Scotford
Laura has 21 years of experience in forestry. She provides technical expertise in forest management, silviculture, botany, insects and diseases, and wildland fuels. She has developed silvicultural prescriptions for a wide variety of forest stand conditions, cultural treatments and management objectives. She has worked as a silviculturist for the US Forest Service and as a NEPA specialist for the Bureau of Land Management. She has provided silvicultural and fuels expertise for more than a dozen environmental assessments and impact statements.

Ms. Scotford is knowledgeable in forest growth and yield modeling and has used the Forest Vegetation Simulator model along with a mountain pine beetle model extension to assess future stand development.

Bob Solari
Bob has more than 30 years of experience in forestry. He provides land management direction for public and private holdings through his fire management expertise, including knowledge of pre-suppression, suppression, aviation, prevention
and fuels management activities. He has field-based experience in assessing fuel levels and fire effects. His experience includes the senior technical direction for analysis of fire effects, fire use applications and fire behavior modeling that requires his practical experience related to modeling.

Prior to becoming a consultant, Mr. Solari worked 30 years for the USDA Forest Service in the Regional Office for California (Region 5), and on the Plumas, Lassen, and Angeles National Forests. Mr. Solari was in fire management activities throughout his 30 years in fire planning, coordination, and fire suppression. He also was involved in fuels management planning and execution of prescribed fire applications.
