The Interlaken Fire burned 704 acres directly next to Twin Lakes Reservoir, in Lake County, Colorado from June 11-24, 2024.

The location of the wildfire proved critical to multiple water suppliers, as Twin Lakes Reservoir provides water to multiple municipalities.

Thanks to the quick implementation of the USFS Leadville district, JW Associates advised on multiple post-fire implementation projects, including:

• Low-tech post-assisted log structures to prevent hillslope erosion

• In-channel gulley treatments
